Hospice and Palliative Care
Hospice and Palliative Care

Care after the diagnosis of a life-limiting diagnosis or during the end of life isn’t just physical. Woven between the layers of physical needs is a much more complex need for patients and families that we approach with holistic care.

The goal of hospice is not to cure illness or hasten death, but to help individuals achieve the highest quality of life possible. By placing an emphasis on quality of life and providing expert symptom management, hospice care allows individuals to spend their last months focusing on the things that are the most important and meaningful to them. Hospice helps individuals and families truly live well and support each other during a stressful, but natural time in life.

Palliative care is a treatment approach that helps medical providers treat and ease the symptoms of a condition. Palliative care does not focus on treating or curing a disease, but on managing its side effects. Palliative care is a big part of hospice care as we work to achieve pain control and relieve other symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, shortness of breath, loss of appetite and stress. At Hand In Hand Hospice, we recognize that feeling better means feeling in control and feeling supported each day, and we are committed to helping you enjoy life and feel as well as you can.
