Our network of dedicated and caring volunteers is a big part of what makes Hand In Hand Hospice special. If you have never volunteered before or have years of dedicated service, there’s a place for you here with us. There are a variety of roles for volunteers in our organization, and you can choose how involved you would like to be.
Direct Patient Care
For some volunteers, it’s all about the personal touch. If you are interested in volunteering with direct patient care, you can look forward to spending special moments with our patients, offering companionship, holding their hand, listening to stories or helping them with everyday tasks such as reading, writing letters or light housework.
Indirect Patient Care
If you are not interested in direct patient contact, don’t worry—there’s a place for you, as well. We always need volunteers in our home office to handle tasks like:
- Mailing bereavement information and newsletters
- Office duties
- Fundraiser organization
- Donating refreshments
Become a Volunteer
Becoming a volunteer is easy. Simply complete the volunteer application form and attend a volunteer training session with the hospice volunteer coordinator.
